Is this 05 Duramax a good deal?

My father is looking at a 05 Duramax with 40,000miles. The truck is very clean and very well kept. It is fully loaded with bose stereo, bucket cloth seats, power everything, and even a sunroof. The truck does not have the steering wheel controls or the 6disc changer but other than that the truck has all the options it can have. The guy ordered if from the factory so he picked what he wanted and didnt want. Him and my father agreed on 25,000 for the truck but my father hasnt bought it yet the guy comes down tomorrow and just wanted to see what you guys thought. Heres a crappy pic my father took when he went to go look at it lol.

Try up the NADA used car guide or Kelly blue Book guide and do some comparisons for vehicles in your area. Late model Dmaxs hold value real well and that was an expensive truck new.

Re: Is this 05 Duramax a good deal?

My father just bought it today, the thing is in almost perfect shape no scratches and only one tiny little ding on the bed railing and the frame isnt rusted at all. The bed is scratched up a bit but something youd see for a 08-09 not a 05. Duramaxes up here go for way more than blue book value because there so highly sought after. Everywhere we go looking for them if we find one its either way to high of miles and beat up or way to much money. The only ones we see that are in good shape for a cheap price are Cummins and Powerstrokes and there is a bunch for sale up here but very few Duramaxs lol i guess we all know why that is.

I say that's a good deal. Only 40K miles, that should last a very long time. May be a good idea to have it rust-proofed if it's not already. Enjoy!

Check out www.dieselplace.com for Dirtymax's for sale in your area and tuning/towing questions. Wealth of info there.

Congrats to your dad on the truck. I would say that's a pretty good deal for the mileage. Around here they are going for more than that with closer to 100K on them.

Yeah if you pull quite a bit with it, or pull heavy loads when you do, you will never want to go back to a gas one. They are quick to spoil you that way.
