what is this wire for?
still trying to tackle this taillight problem....ive got a 1984 k10 4x4 and i dont have any running lights. i looked at a schematic and i think this is for the running lights but not sure. just need someone that has had this problem before

are you running a tach?
it by-passes the fuse box completely, so that makes me think it's aftermarket something...

brown is the running lights, yellow is a stop light , dark green is the other stop light and light green is the reverse lights.

nope no tach, i cant tell by the schematic i was looking at if it was for the tail lights, it said there was a brown wire and then a orange one, im fixin to retrace the wires all the way back. and it doesnt totally skip the fuse box, i think it comes through the fuse box then out. i think its a open circuit.

I think it connects to that lighter colored 25 amp fuse next to the orange 20 amp in your picture.There is a fuse box diagram on www.chuckschevytruckpages.com if that helps at all.

also...i was really really close to having someone do it....i really really hate taking my stuff to the shop...especially when its something i can do...drives me crazy!!!
