Confused? 1972 swb

New guy here. I need help trying to figure out exactly what i bought. (Don't know if i got screwed or what.) I bought 2 1972 trucks 1 Lwb and 1 Swb for $2500. I got both clear titles for them. The story on the trucks: the Lwb was running until the father's son installed a radio in it, (he wire it wrong) and it caught on fire. The inside cab area was toast but the rest was fine.---this makes the truck the official donor now. The Swb supposedly he bought from some guy and it was a Cheyenne super with no motor or trans. The man was going to do a restore project but he was hospitalized for cancer. So he sold it. So after getting the truck home i look more into it. I found that the vin plate, and frame number match along with the title. But the glove box vin does not match. Also, above the vin plate, there's a small red decal that says (reassigned vehicle identification number). So once again i don't know if its a Cheyenne, Super, Custom, Deluxe? Or if the truck was stolen? I will post pics up soon. The original color was medium olive poly--i found that behind the padding on firewall. Any help is appreciated!

Re: Confused? 1972 swb

sounds like it was either totaled or the VIN tag was altered in some way but it does sound like it is legal though. The DMV should be able to inform you of why it was tagged.
