17x9.5" rear wheels?
Who's running 17x9.5" wheels on the rear of their truck? What backspacing do you have? Pictures would be great also.
I got (2) 17x8 wheels for the front with 4" bs. I need to find (2) 17x9.5" for the rear now. I need to know what backspacing works best though.

I'm running 4.5" BS on mine.....72 rear end. Older rear ends are narrower.

Re: 17x9.5" rear wheels?
Mine are supposed to be 17x9.5. I measured tonight and I believe I have 5" of back spacing. Here are pictures of the clearance and a few pictures of the truck. I would have preferred to have .5"-1" less back spacing in order to move the wheel/tire towards the outside of the truck. Keep in mind, each vehicle is a little different, so your best bet is to measure, measure and measure on your truck or borrow some wheels with the backspacing you are looking for. Anyway, on to the pics...my truck is dropped 6" in the rear and has 275/50/17 tires. It also has a 5 lug rear from a 71-72 truck. I hope this helps.
Clearance on the outside of the tire: Clearance on the inside of the tire: Rear Shot: 3/4 Shot: One more:

Re: 17x9.5" rear wheels?
brn agn, Are you sure that's 5" of bs? That looks more like 5.5" from what I've been looking at. I agree it needs less bs to sit further toward the edge of the fender.
Also, for what it's worth, I'm going with Torque Thrust II's as well. Here's a shot of see ten's truck with 4.75" bs. I like the way it looks.

Re: 17x9.5" rear wheels?
Mine are 9.5s with a 4" drop, and have 5 & 1/2" backspace, (almost rubbing inside) but I agree that 4.75" would be just about right.

Here are mine 17x9.5...not sure of backspacing though...they were on it when I bought it...they look good....only rub on the inside when I get the rearend tilted on a pretty good angle...I'll try and measure and get back to you....

Re: 17x9.5" rear wheels?
I has 17 x 8 with 4" BS on front and 17 x 9.5 with 5.56 BS on back. It looks to me like my plans for lowering 3.5 front/ 4 rear may be tricky. will let you all see and know how that goes.

Re: 17x9.5" rear wheels?
OK, so I now know I need to get at least a 5" bs if not 4.75"
Thanks for all the photos and info, guys. Some tire sizes would be nice as well. I'd like to have a tad more beef than the 275/50/17. I'm thinking a 275/55/17-255/55/17 combo would look great.

Re: 17x9.5" rear wheels?
The TT2's only come in a 5.5 BS on the 9.5x17 wheel with 5 on 5 bolt pattern.
I have the same wheels on my 67' with a step bed with a 71/72 rear and it is very close, but clears fine. |

Re: 17x9.5" rear wheels?
Yes, standard bs was 5.5". AR doesn't even make the 17x9.5 for stock anymore, they're all custom order only now. Jeg's is the only place I've seen that still has any in stock, and they have the 5.5" bs. They're also only 269.99, which is a good price. I may pay the higher price and get custom bs though.
slowtruck, got any pics?
