LQ4 vs LQ9
What is the difference between the lq4 and the lq9? Is one considered better than the other? And which would be a better swap?

I think the only major difference is the pistons. Not 100% on that tho..

....yup and that brings comprssion to like 10:1 for LQ9 vs LQ4 at 9.4:1
( I think those #'s are right... or at least close)

...and brings horsepower from 320 up to 345 or so.

dished vs flat top pistons is pretty much the only difference. Swap would be 100% the same. Which is better? thats a toss up.
Lq9 comes with slightly higher hp, but usually incurs a slightly higher price for the motor. Lq4 is a 9.4:1 cr, which is preferable if you want to keep the cr #'s low for FI or large shots of spray. Even if you wanted an N/A combo, you may be able to get an lq4 and a milled set of heads (to bring your compression up) for less or close to the cost of an lq9...all depends on the source.
