Cab Interchangability?????????

Just curious are the cabs the same from 73-87 or is there a point cut off?

73-87 will interchange, sure. But there were some milestones of evolution along the way. Most significant was the change to the cowl and front clip in the early 80s.

73-80 are first cabs, 81-87 are second cabs used. Both will interchange but as stated, cowl modifications are required.

What cowl mods are required? I have heard the hood hinge mounts are a little different

not an exp[ert, but I have one that is modified. Its a 76 modified to fit a 91 sub front clip. If you go from 81-87 with a 73-80 front clip, I believe the only mod is the wiper arms. something with the actuators has top be changed because the wiper arms set differently. To put an 81-91 clip on it, there are pockets that have to be put in for the hood hinges as the 73-80 hinges bolt to the fenders. Something has to be done with the wiper arms as well, but i couldnt tell you what
