Re: sound system for 51 chevy truck
I would love to show you pictures, but I am in Afghanistan right now. My 52 c-10 is back in the states. What I did to my baby was- 1. Got a 200watt 4 channel USA-2 head unit that looks like the original off of ebay-$159. 2. 8inch dual coil Bazooka sub(it had a 200watt amp built into it)-$99. 3. Got a 600watt four channel sony explode amp from walmart-$98. 4. I got the wiring for the sub also at walmart-$36 5. Got 6x9 240 watt 4 channel Sony Explode speakers at walmart-$59 I purchased two nice four channel truck box speakers from a local audio shop-$159. The head unit is mounted in the factor spot for the radio. It is an exact fit. I have the sub, amp, and truck speakers all underneath my seat. The 6x9 speakers I made a wooden templet for and put them under the dash facing the floor. All wiring was run underneath the "carpet" of the truck. The sound is unbelievable great. More volume with clarity than you will ever need. I left the truck speaker cables about seven feet long, so I can pull them out and set them on the truck when we are having a party outside. 512 dollars for a setup that is better than most two thousand dollar systems!
