Should we be concerned?

I had some time on my hands so I started looking at Craigslist, I realized I was seeing a lot of 67-72 Chevy/GMC trucks for sale. This is what I found for sale in New England:

67 - 13 trucks

68 - 6 trucks

69 - 13 trucks

70 - 10 trucks

71 - 11 trucks

72 - 9 trucks

A total of 62 trucks for sale.. I was careful not to count ads posted in different areas too.

Good point. It just seemed that everyone around me who has a truck was getting rid of it. The more I think about it, I guess it's a good thing to get trucks sold to someone who will use/restore them.

Re: Should we be concerned?

take a look at the production numbers per year and do the math on how many are still out there somewhere. There are at least two to five in my zip code alone down in GA every week. I don't want to misquote the numbers but if I am correct for the 67-72 year models there were almost 165000 fleetside 8' models alone. Check out this link http://www.oldride.com/library/1967_chevrolet_c10.html

Pretty cool info. I never realized how many were out there until I bought and started restoring mine.

Re: Should we be concerned?

There are quite a few up here in North Georgia as well .Saw a beautiful blue 72 short fleet at Jaspers mainstreet cruisein last Saturday .Also saw a nice green shorty fleet for sale in Blue Ridge ,Ga a few weeks back. There are several more in the neighborhood I live in as well as a lot of trucks for parts that are not for sale (Im gonna fix it ) that have been sitting for years.

Here's an interesting link:

These trucks are a LOT less uncommon than those who appreciate them. We can buy and fix them cheaply because if this, especially in this economy.
