you never know what you will run into!!!

So i posted a thread about this truck iam looking at buying. however i decided to start a new thread because of some findings. here is a link of the original thread http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...76#post4216676

Ok so i meet this guy and looked at the truck. he said the ball joints, brake pads need to be replaced. the ac has a leak just needs to be found so i started the ac and the compressor worked. so I drove the truck and it drove better than my 71 c10. every thing worked like it should. we got to talking while driving and he told me he owns a resto shop. so when i asked him which one he owned. told me its a word of mouth only. well he lives near me and invited me to look at. when we got to his house and shop on 10 acres i was dumb founded. nomads, bel-airs, chevelle, t-bucket freshly painted, and a lot more that i have only seen in pictures. his garage/shop was better than any mechanic shop i had ever seen. engines as far as the eye can see. he had a nomad completely stripped with fresh paint and it had the straightest body with no bondo. it was hot rodders heaven. Sorry for the long post still trying to cope with the awesomeness. the worst part is when i had to leave.

I think I may have held the same feeling of awe when my best friend's brother invited me to be part of the "gang" that he put together to work out of a fully equipped commercial shop. It had EVERYTHING on hand to fix or modify just about anything. There were a couple times when I was in there with my Mustang on the lift and I had to just pause and look around....then think to myself "This is sooooo coool"

Re: you never know what you will run into!!!

Friend of mine has a 30x60 shop, with heat and air, a paint booth and another 20x30 storage room attached at the rear. In it there is so much stuff that American Pickers would have trouble navigating. There's good stuff in it, if you're into 1st gen Mustangs. Some NOS stuff and it is "hidden" from view. There's a couple Mercedes Benz (450SL and a 280SE) and the list goes on. There's been some nice cars come outta there, and I helped on some of them. But, he's nearly 80, and doesn't have the drive he used to have. But, he's helping to raise his only great-grandchild and we all know how much time kids take out of our day. He wouldn't have it any other way, either.

BTW, he and I both have lived in Tucson, so that parts not lost on us.
