found a rust free a/c cab with title guy wants 1200 for it. Comes with all the ac parts for inside the cab. he also has a rust free long bed for 700.

question is are these prices decent? wont want to waste my money

I am not sure about the cab but that is a real good deal on the bed if it's solid. JMHO

JMHO for me that would be top dollar for just a cab and a title. It would have to be really a super nice cab. I found a entire front clip, cab with complete interior, and short bed that was sitting in a garage 21 years for $1500 no frame but a title that had 25,000 original miles. But like in your area, rust free parts are hard to find. And folks calling stuff rust free in our areas isn't usually very rust free. It isn't hard to sink $1200 dollars in work redoing a cab when you start replacing mounts, cab corners, inner outer rockers and floor and the dreaded above windshield area. So depends on your skills and ability of S/M repair to consider too.

i have no skills when it comes to body work i was quoted almost 3k to fix my cab so i am really looking hard at the 1200 dollars cab and it is rust free i have checked both out

I think you have answered your own question then. Sure beats eight months worth of sanding and welding and much quicker to just do cab swaps for me too.

Don't overlook time and delivery cost. If it's in your back yard and convenient, go for it.

Money is relative if ya don't want to do your own body work, if ya pay more to have panels replaced then your money ahead.. Keep in mind if the cab is painted there could be areas that you cant see that have rust starting, inspect it really closely..

i had 71long rust free solid bed for a western trucka few years ago complete with upper and lower trim couldnt get $100

cab was almost as good got $100 after 6months with the complete AC system

look further you could probally find a solid complete truck with chassis drivetrain runnin driving for not much more

wow around my parts in ca cabs will go up to 300 maybe 400 for rust free and they still sit for a long while.
long beds are not reallu wanted and are fairly cheap 4-5 for a perfect bed if ur lucky.
but we are in different parts of the us and we dont have any snow or much salt.
