1st year for Jimmy-'69 or '70?
Just curious if the GMC's started making the Jimmy in 1969 or 1970. Which is it? Also, how many were 2wd(approx)?
Thanks, Matthew

Thanks for the tip! Any idea on how to decode a GMC vin? Mainly just to figure year? It's always been a Screwy bunch of #'s to me.
Thanks, Matthew

the best thing i can tell you is to match up the vin number in the cab glove box or the plate on the door frame. to the vin number on the frame it self. it can be located on the top of the frame where the steering box is. Also make sure it's coil not spring. i think the vin matches the first 8 or last number of the vin something like that. hey who knows it might just have a different body on a 2wd frame. good luck on it

CE18Z****** is a typical 70 gmc jimmy vin .... I think the 8 is the Jimmy body cant remeber off top of head right now. The Z was used instead of 0 to identify 70. Might not be like this but could be... if not post it to me... i'll decode it.

Alexis,
Went to look today and bought it. It is a 1971 factory 2wd. I'll be posting it for sale in a couple of days as I only wanted a couple of things off it. It's pretty rough, but does have a posi.
