Hastings Piston rings
So i purchased a set of over sized piston rings from Hastings. Was in the process of installing the very last top compression ring on the piston when it snapped in half.. I applied no more pressure then the other rings that I had finished minutes before. So is there a warranty for crap like that or do i have to buy a new set of just one ring. It seems like when i take one step forward it end up taking two steps backwards. New rings shouldn't break, old ones i can see but new ????

I'd contact Hastings directly. With or without warranty I thing they may handle it under "good will" since the cost to them for one ring will be small.
A lot of companies out there are total jerks about stuff like this but some are OK. Two of the best with customer support I've worked with are ARP and Edelbrock. I hope Hastings gets added to the good list. Good Luck Kerry P |

I'm sitting on a complete set minus 1 ring for something similar. They were sealed power plasma 1/16th however.

I broke one several years ago from hastings and I had to buy a replacement, but it was much cheaper than buying a whole set. Unless they have changed you should still be able to do this.

compression ring's are made to be HARD so they will wear well but they are BRITTLE and will break easy ,
