Where does this connect to?
Attachment 639294I started installing a new wiring harness. I replaced the taillight and the harness that runs along the frame. The harness that runs along the frame has an extra connection. One ends in the rear by the taillight and the other ends by the firewall ( photo) Where does that connect to?
I am thinking that it is for the back-up lights, but I am confused where the connector reaches the firewall. One connects into the stop=taillght harness and I can not find the connection for the one I assume was for the back-up lights. See photo. Last edited by Born Lucky; 10-02-2010 at 11:03 PM. |

Re: Where does this connect to?
If your truck didn't originally come with backup lights, the hole in the firewall may not have been punched out. I believe it should be right below the stop/taillight plug

Re: Where does this connect to?
That is what I thought. I have the wiring diagram and it does not show where it connects to. Now if I punch a hole into the firewall where do I connect the wire.

Re: Where does this connect to?
It would depend on whether you have a four speed,
automatic/ 3 speed in the tree, theres a switch that would be installed in the rectangular slot in the steering column between the clutch and brake pedals.
