A/c Block off plate? where to buy

my truck came stock with a/c, but im not interested in using or repairing it right now.
i'd like to remove that large box that houses the core, its located on the right side of the fire wall. i just want the engine bay to look cleaner.
where can i get a block off plate for that? any negative side effects of removing this?
thanks for your info

Negative effects I think would be no heat either and seeing you are in Michigan that might be a bad idea. There is a company at www.acdelete.com that makes a part where you can remove the big bulky outer AC box and replace it with their part and still keep your blower motor so you can have heat. It is a little pricy for a piece of plastic but it might do what you need. I am probably going to get one also.

Re: A/c Block off plate? where to buy

This is how I looked at it and you may too. That huge box is ugly if your not using your AC. But at some point if I want to add AC back on I still have that option. Otherwise I would just shave the firewall. My AC box is on the shelf in the garage with everything I saved for that date. Plus this plate solved that ugly box not hooked up in my engine compartment. So in that sense it's worth it to me. Do I think it was expensive? Yeah, but for it's intended purpose my best option for returning back in using AC again at a later date.
