Aluminum differetial covers ?
I'm considering buying a Strange or JPW heavy duty aluminum rear end cover. Are they worth the money? Will they clear a ECE super track bar? TIA.

Re: Aluminum differetial covers ?
Yes, they're worth having. Running w/o one cost me a ring & pinion set. IDK about the ECE bar, but an LPW cover will clear the factory track bar w/o any problems. They're definitely a wise investment.

Re: Aluminum differetial covers ?
worth it. look at the lpw covers for a backbrace, even if you don't buy the backbrace kit it will have the mounting holes for it if you ever decide you need it. first one i bought didn't have it and after bending the housing i had to replace the cover to use a backbrace. Dev.

Re: Aluminum differetial covers ?
TA Performance makes a low profile design. Which I think TAP makes them all for all the companies, they just have a different logo machined on the face.

Based on the times in your sig, I'd say yes, it'd be a good idea.

Re: Aluminum differetial covers ?
I don't have the brace on mine. Check out LPW's site. They have some install pics in there. The site address is lpwracing.com.

Re: Aluminum differential covers ?
Some good pictures on the website. I wonder if you could get away with bolting it to the axle saddles instead of welding brackets on the axle tubes?

Re: Aluminum differential covers ?
For the brace to effectively do it's job, I would say it should be attached to tabs welded directly to the axle tube.

Re: Aluminum differetial covers ?
The cover should be here today. I'm getting worried that my super track bar is going to have interference problems.....

Re: Aluminum differetial covers ?
Got the cover today and it's a really nice piece, however........the ECE track bar mount on the trailing arm puts the track bar in a position that causes intereference, . I think I have a couple of possible solutions. I'll post them when I get it figured out. Here's some pictures. Always something.....

Re: Aluminum differetial covers ?
I do, but that would defeat the purpose of the double adjustable pan hard bar, not that it needs to be changed that often.

Re: Aluminum differetial covers ?
It drives great. I dial in all four shocks and head to the country back roads. I put in on because I don't have the fabrication tools to make a anti roll bar set up. I was told the Anti-sway bar should help the truck plant its foot print more square on the launch. Also I think I noticed the spool feeling more aggressive on the tire on sharp turns, or I could be smoking something.

Re: Aluminum differetial covers ?
I bought the TA rear end cover and it hit my ECE track bar. I had to send it back for refund. Hopfully Hotrod can come up with a solution.
