I am running rich and have a edelb 1405 with an electric choke any suggestions?

Is your engine basically stock? I had to detune my 1406 carb two steps to get it not to be rich. You can get the kit for about $30. It is real easy to do.

Now I am getting 15+ miles per gallon and pass the emissions with flying colors.

With your carb you should have gotten a booklet. In that booklet there is a chart that shows you what needles and jets you need to tune you carb.

You can get the kit from either Jegs or Summit.

Edelbrock carbs are real easy to work with. If you need to change the jets, it might take 20 minutes. Needles take less than 5 minutes to change.

The chart in the booklet will look like this:

My carb is now tuned at the number "7" spot on the chart. I originally went with the number '12' spot, but it was to lean.

I'll just put it this way.....any diesel I ever had, automotive or semi truck rolled black smoke like a housefire........Who ever would have dreamed that a screwdriver could create so much torque !!!!!!

r u running a pressure regulator.even with a stock pump u need one those edelbrocks dont like more than 5.5 psi and ur stock pump is probably running somewhere between 6 and 9 psi.
