Is This Legit?
Here is a Craigslist ad I found while looking for a TH400 transmission. Is this original or what?

Re: Is This Legit?
I would think it is a TH375 except the year dont match his 86. Maybe it was not original to the van
copied from http://www.nastyz28.com/chevy-transm...tification.php THM375: This transmission is a derivative of the THM400 sharing the external appearance of the 400. It'll be marked 375-THM on the bottom of the tailshaft housing. It's a light duty version of the THM400, has ABSOLUTELY NO RELATION to the THM375B, and was found in 1972 to 1976 full-size cars. The Turbo 375 was modified to accept the Turbo 350 driveshaft yoke. |

Re: Is This Legit?
1 thing I know for a fact and that is a 350th tail shaft will in no way bolt to a 400th main case.

Re: Is This Legit?
Do you think it would be worth buying? I just want to drive my truck, it's no hot rod.

Re: Is This Legit?
We just took a trany out of a 87 chev 2wd that looks like that and it looks like a th400 with a long output shaft. The guy put a 700r4 in out of a 89 rally van and it bolted in with no driveshaft modifacations and was splined the same. The guy at the trans shop had never seen a 400 with that long of an output before
