inside door opener?

first i am unsure what the correct name for this mechanism is.....

i need an inside door opener, goes under the door panel [and not the latch assy.]
classic parts has one [part #18-835], however they list it as a '68-'71 unit only. i have a '67. they do not have a '67 part #.

so can someone confirm or deny that the opening mechanism is the same for '67 thru '71?

i know the '72's are different because the door panel is thicker and the spline shaft is longer. [although if the bolt pattern was the same and the lever length was the same it would probably work].

thanks

Re: inside door opener?

Interesting problem. I believe you are referring to the Door Latch Control and my LMC catalog doesn't list one for '67 either. It lists one for '68-'71 and a separate one for '72 but not '67. You might consult with one of the vendors that supports the forum and see if they can help you. The vendors who support the forum are usually much more knowledgeable than the staff at places like LMC.

Good call..I am puzzled why it isn't listed. Wonder if it's just a misprint?

I just checked GMC pauls web site his lists as 67-71 one part #, 72 as another. Maybe a misprint!

Re: inside door opener?

It's probably a misprint. I doubt if the staff really knows these trucks. Having just consulted www.gmcpauls.com he shows it listed for '67-'71 and calls it a Door Relay Control.

Click here and scroll down to it.

Edit: Sammy, great minds think alike. I cross posted.
