Clutch fork issue

What is the trick to get the retaining clip that holds the clutch fork to the pivot ball? This is a 3 on the tree manual. I've been trying all night and gave up. Can someone enlighten me.....PLEASE.

Re: Clutch fork issue

Are you trying to remove the fork or install it?

Re: Clutch fork issue

I don't understand the question either. The fork snaps on & off the ball on the bell houseing. If you are trying to remove the clip it should pry out of the fork. I have some NOS clips if you need one.

Re: Clutch fork issue

I'm putting the fork back on. I can't get the new (or old for that matter) retaining clip back on. Sorry, I posted that question at 1 am last night.

Re: Clutch fork issue

Are you trying to do this with the transmission installed? I don't think you can.

Re: Clutch fork issue

Bite the bullet and pull the transmission. You will just end up breaking something if you don't.

Re: Clutch fork issue

Well it's really just about asking the right questions. The other guys here telling you how easy it was were right. So the only explanation I could think of for why you were having trouble was that the transmission was still in there. Once you look at the back of the fork you will see what they were talking about.
