Stainless trim options ???

I ran across a bigger truck the other day with stainless trim around the side windows, and above and below the rear window, and in the windshield gasket. I think the truck is a 57 or 58. It is probably a 2 ton series. My question is, is this the same as the 1/2 and 3/4 tons? I assume it is worth pulling. It also has chrome escutcheons around the wiper stubs. Are those uncommon? I can post pics if that will help. Thanks for any info. Eric

Re: Stainless trim options ???

I know they offered stainless trim on the 58-59's, not sure on the previous years. You can get repop stuff from ecklers and such so you could check their online catalog and see if they fit the larger trucks.

Re: Stainless trim options ???

It's the same. Get it if it's staight. The repop is VERY thin and flimsy.

Thats a LCF (low cab forward) truck. I would bring the hole thing home. would have to see the front clip to tell what year.

Re: Stainless trim options ???

doors, steering wheel, dash if its not rusted out or hacked up, but you will need to cut it out. Those old lights sitting on top are cool too. Anything that is chrome or cool.

Re: Stainless trim options ???

From the steering wheel, It could be a 57-59. Around here, Ive seen the chrome trim go for a couple hundred bucks. The dash gauges is probably worth $75 (cleaned up) and not sure on the other. I had a 55 and a 59 so that's just my opinion on those parts when I was buying and selling.

Re: Stainless trim options ???

depends on condition. No dints and polished up, could be worth up to 3-4 hundred to the right person. Dents and bends drop the value fast. Look on ebay you can get a good idea of values. Yes they will fit a pick up al so.

Thanks for the info. The trim will clean up decent, but not perfect. Eric
