What I did today for 38 bucks and found something interesting

I went to the junkyard today for no paticular reason but just to see what was lurking around. I wound up finding a 72 C20 that had been wrapped around a pole and man what a shame this thing was in great shape no rust at all and I got these great parts! Bench seat that had recently been recovered nice working door handle (mine broke last year) and shifter indicator! The grand total was 38 bucks for all. YES!!! Name: good deal 1.jpg

Once I got the parts home it was time to go to work. I pulled my rig into the garage and started wrenching. Heres a few pics. Before Name: old seat.jpg

I usually hate sundays aside from football but It felt good to do something productive for once and my bears won today too so that helped alot haha.

Another truck caught my eye after I pulled the bench seat out of the 72. I found a 69 C20 that looked in too good of shape to be at a junkyard. I got closer and noticed the rockers were completely gone and the floorboards were rusted through. I checked the spif and it was an original 396 truck on another note I noticed these awsome door panels that have a bowtie at the top and the middle. Name: door panel.jpg

Size: 39.1 KB I have never seen these before and tried to get them out but the covering shredding on the bottom of the driverside when I got the bolt out so I said screw it. Anybody seen or know about these panels?

Keepin' it epic, Evan

Good score! I am going to the local yard tomorrow, I'm getting a 6 lug posi rear with 3.73s, I'm sure that it will cost more than your $38 bill .

Yes, those are the 1969 CST door panels. In 70'-71' they got the woodgrain. Trevor

Very cool nice score! I never noticed the bow tie on the door panels before, I'll have to keep an eye out for those. Nice catch.

Those door panels are very popular where I live. There on all my trucks and came that way. I also have a ton of them in good condition laying around. I thought that's how they came.

There is a pick and pull on Geneva road and 400 south in Orem that has a couple 60 to 66 trucks and one 69 or 70. They have some vans and mid 70's suburbans too.

Nice score! That's why I like the pick-n-pulls, ya can just browse around and see what ya like. And usually dirt cheap.

those door panels are early 69. In late 69 they had no markings there.

Thanks for that info Longhorn Man. I was wondering why all the ones I find have no darn bow tie.
