Here's a pic of the factory swaybar in my 70 for reference. It kinda looks like you've got it installed right. It could be that you've got to put the weight back on the wheels to know for sure.

It looks correct to me. It seems the angle of the A arm bushing and the tip of the sway bar would be hard to align and tighten down without the weight of the truck on the suspension. That may be why you are having doubts.

The jack stands are under the lower control arms, however the truck is disassembled - only the drivetrain is on the frame.

It took a little doing to get the last bushing down on the control arm. I had to use a long bolt to drag it down. Maybe I need the entire vehicle weight on the suspension?

Even with the stand under the control arm the suspension is partially un-spring. You would have to have the stand out under the spindle to be the same load as sitting on the tires. That in combination with the body being off you are probably really close to having no load on the suspension at all. Bar looks right to me.

I had problems with fit/mounting the sway bar I bought from cpp. I called there tech support and they told me it needs to be installed at ride weight so basicly its like the last thing to install, but I think Im still gonna come up short. Have to wait and see when i get to that point like 3 years from now lol.

I think you guys are right - there's just not enough weight on the suspension. Thanks for your help.
