Leaves in my cab?

This may sound like a stupid question. I have leaves blowing into my cab when I drive. I thought it was the side vents so I closed them. However there are still leaves blowing in. I want to track down where they are coming in from so I'm not leaking when it starts raining around here.

I was wondering if there was another spot I should look?

they come in through the valance slots at the wind shield and when it rains get pushed down to the floor vents and plug up the drains. And just build up over time. pull the floor vents& clean out (both sides and drains) look into installing wire mesh under the valance. hope this helps. cheers, Pat P.S. also check/ clean the blower fan area.

If they are blowing in through the dash/floor vents.....the fan is picking them up from the holes that are probably in the firewall at the fan mounting. But, as already explained, it's all the previous years' accumulation of dirt and leaves and sweet gum balls and acorns and pine needles, Y3, that have created some rusty areas. You can get a screen cut to fit under the slots in the cowl that will help keep the big stuff out, but the damage has already been done. Wanna see a picture of my cowl? This one is trash, but will show how bad it can get. This is an air cab, so the holes behind the box on the firewall are a tad different than a non-air cab. My cab looks like this because a previous owner used a non-automotive silicone RTV sealer, which reacted with the metal and caused the rust. But, behind the fenders is where the lower part of the plenum is located and where the leaves and dirt accumulate. Doesn't keep 'em out of the air handler, though.

a good start is to remove the blower motor assy and to clean out the 40years of crap that has accumulated in there
