Pics of my Suburban....

Finally, I have pics of my suburban that I lowered about a month ago. Thanks to Jeff(bigblock73) for advice on the drop. It's a 1985 C10 Suburban, 350/700R4. Method of drop, 1 coil cut, 2.5" drop spindles in the front and flip kit in the rear. I think it came out well. I had to put some smaller tires on the front since these pictures because it bottomed out bad on the inner fenders, it only had an inch or inch and a half between the tires and inner fenders. I would like to go a little lower in the future, maybe air all around or at least up front. The pics were taken right after drop and since then the camber has been adjusted. Onto the pics....

Looking good. Your probably going to want to remove the front spoiler and cut it shorter. It won't last long if you don't.

Re: Pics of my Suburban....

no dont cut it shorter...here is a trick i learned... cut the lip on the back side off, it will let it flex more and that way it doesnt break...here is mine and it has taken some beatings...LOL

Thanks for all the kind words guys, it means a lot. I will take your advice on the air deflector to keep it from breaking. Right now it's just a reminder that I am now low. I scrape the front on the pavement and drag the hitch also, only when coming in or out of parking lots and driveways. I just smile when it happens

I do have a 2008 LY6 6.0 that I recently picked up for a good price. It will be a long road but I plan on getting it in there in the spring/summer. That will give me the winter to do more research and collect parts. I did want to paint it first, but once I lowered it, I kinda like the stock southern GA patina

Im am not sure exactly what it dropped the front to, but it's 1 coil cut and 2.5" CPP drop spindles. In the rear I used a 5" DJM flip kit. The tires on it in these pictures are the stock size, 235/75 R15 on 8" wide stock rallies.

I went back and looked at pics of your truck and yeah, mine do look a little smaller. Maybe it's because you have the white lettering showing and mine are all black...?

sorry man. FWIW, a while back I saw a red 87 GMC Suburban, it was lowered, front was bagged and rear was static, in good shape power options, tan interior, front buckets on Minneapolis Craigslist for under 3K. I tried to find a way to justify it but I am not sure I can justify the one I have so no go there. It seemed to be an awesome deal, but this was back a few months.

I don't mean to push you over the edge with that or this, so tell your wife I am sorry and please don't ever tell her where I live . It would make sense if you got one, what with the family and all. I am sure you could sell your tan truck for a reasonable price, but it might be very hard for you to find a 2wd round eye 'burb around here.

Re: Pics of my Suburban....

Problem is, I actually use the tan truck as a truck...haha. Can't haul stuff in a burb like I can in a truck...at least not as easily.

Someday...
