Nice steering wheels?

I got a chrome tilt column going in and I cant seem to find a steering wheel I like. I just cant justify paying $350+ for a "steering wheel", but it seems everything I like is around that price range. I have been searching ebay but Im just not finding the "one"..... Any advice? BTW- I really want atleast a 15" steering wheel...

Gm comfort grip. This one is leather wrapped.

You can get the whole kit for about 250 or so.

Re: Nice steering wheels?

Nothing looks better than the stocker in my opinion. I just think aftermarket wheels rob the trucks of character and usually look out of place.

Stockers look good on a stock column. I think one would look out of place on a chrome tilt column. Tony, I'm finally getting around to my interior and installed my chrome tilt two days ago. I tried to select a steering wheel that went well with my wheels and dash. Here's a photo I took today when I dropped it off at the trim shop. It's a Billet Specialties Chicayne.

That looks sweet Joesph! The couple that I have found that I kinda like are the Billet Specialties line of steering wheels. Im just hoping for something that just really reaches out and grabs me..... So far nothing is jumping out at me for this truck.

I totally know what you mean. After searching for days I finally gave up and forced myself to make a selection. When it came in I realized they look much better in person than in photos.

Re: Nice steering wheels?

Go to Rex Marine's website Rexmar.com They have a line of Steering wheels. They bought my wheel compeny a few years back. Part of the wheel line is 14.5 diameter. I designed these wheels for my 71 truck all the guages are in clear view. These are full leather wrapped. The Cruiser is the one I built for a Christmas gift for my Dad and it was a real popular wheel for the truck croud. I don't know what they have gone to in pricing now but they are a quatity piece. Hope this helps

Ok...that explains it....I bought mine from Impys.... The cruiser is what I have on my CST....it is by far the nicest steering wheel I've ever had on any vehicle....well worth the price....not a great picture but you get the idea....

Re: Nice steering wheels?

Are you looking for a billet style wheel specifically but not the billet price?

Re: Nice steering wheels?

I don't know what it is about this steering wheel, but I've had a thing for the Flaming River Waterfall for a few years now...but like you are saying, it's a lot of money for a steering wheel...

Re: Nice steering wheels?

Are you going to have any woodgrain anywhere? Might look at a wood wheel with chrome spokes...they are around 100-150 for nice ones...

Re: Nice steering wheels?

I tried to do some searching myself and a 15" wheel is not easy to find.

Re: Nice steering wheels?

In the Billet line !5" is a little rare. Budnik and Billet Specialties have a 15" line. I know that steering wheels can get a little pricey. I looked at it the same way that is why I started building billet wheels. After building wheels for a while you get alot of feedback The one thing you do every time you drive your truck is grab that wheel. What ever wheel you buy, remember, you have to look and hold it everytime you drive. Buy something you want and will enjoy even if that means saving up a little longer. I have herd it to many times I should of bought this one the first time and it would of been cheeper in the long run. For what it's worth. Impy
