Ram horn to header: Altenator/Pwr Steering brackets?

I am putting a set of headers on my truck. The engine is out right now and I was looking at my ram horns and noticed there are mounting bolts on it. What has everyone used to replace these once the headers are on?

My '69 has holes for mounting, in the head. Reckon that's the issue with older heads.

I remember seeing some brackets that bolted on with the headers, that created the mounts for the accessories.

I'll have to check the heads. The truck has been sitting since 2003 and I am gathering parts to get the engine back in. I just need to set it in the truck and just start putting things on it to see what I'm missin.

Do you have a 327? Most of the original 327 heads that I have seen, do not have mounting holes. 283's either. Looks like fab time.

No the original motor was a 307. That one died. I now have a 77 350 with 350 heads. I guess I need to look at my heads and figure out what year they are.

Re: Ram horn to header: Altenator/Pwr Steering brackets?

What waterpump setup are you gonna use? I have the short style waterpump and I used an aftermarket chrome alternator bracket setup that mounts on the #1 primary of the header, then for the ps pump I made an spacer out a stack of washers and hooked that to the front bolt of the header along with the alternator mount (kind of ghetto, but I'm planning on making a real spacer out of pipe sometime). Here are some links to the two alternator brackets similar to mine (you bolt the first one onto the header, then bolt the second one onto the first one, then mount the alt. on the second one....if that makes sense )
First one (mount to header)
second one (alternator actually hooks to this one)
Hope this helps and makes sense.

Thanks Jac! This is the info I was looking for. I will check my water pump when I get home tonight.

No problem. I forgot to mention you will also need this if you don't have one already. Good luck.

Re: Ram horn to header: Altenator/Pwr Steering brackets?

Yeah I went to the site and noticed it required those. I think mine will work.

I got to work on it a little last night. I installed my harmonic balancer and discovered I need new valve covers so I think I will order the covers adn these brackets at the same time.

I used the Mr. Gasket alternator bracket set, and it works well and also looks good. Got the entire set on Ebay for $15.
