Going tonite to check on this listing. Let me know if you guys think it looks good for the money. $1400 is a lot. I'll be sure to comb over every "square " inch of it. Here's the listing.

Re: Craigslist Cheyenne

I've always wanted to buy one that didn't need a lot of work to make it decent. Problem here in Indiana is the ole tin worm gets into everything.

I talked to the guy that listed it. His parents bought it new in 79. It's always been kept indoors in the barn at night and when not in use. He says it has a minor trans fluid leak, the driver's armrest has "a lot of wear".

I'll keep you guys posted. Might be dragging home onother one..... Just sold my 79 4x4 I had for sale for a year earlier last week. Took a heck of a loss on it, but still have enough of the cash left to buy this one if it proves to be worthy of the price. I'm gonna offer 11 cash and see where it goes.

I agree. Look like scrap aluminminminminum to me..

Besides, you wouldn't need them on a lowered truck.

Yep, it had the cab roof lights. 8 lug camper special. A lot of the truck has the original paint. What scares me is the same thing as all the other squares I've owned. Floorboards and bed floor rust through. Heck, it still has every original emissions hose and everything. Two pumps of the pedal, and it fired right up. Engine still sounds tight and strong. Seems more like 69000 than 169000 to me.

I didn't buy the truck. Although a nice original specimen, it isn't quite what I need right now. I'll save the cash. Steve was a nice guy, and I do think the truck is worth what he's asking.

Me too. Don't want to give up the CC project (although it is in very early stages) and can't give up the 68 Elky my Dad gave me that occupies half of the shop. If I buy another my wife will surely have me sleeping somewhere else soon.

Re: Craigslist Cheyenne

Forgot to add also that the truck didn't have air conditioning. I thought this was standard for a "Cheyenne" trim package?

I don't think so, If I'm correct you had to order AC and power windows no matter what trim package you had...not sure but I think it's what was done....
