Manual steering box issues
Has anyone ever put a two wheel drive manual box in place of a 4x4 manual box? Aside from pitman arm differences is there a ratio difference? I have not been able to find any 4x4 manual boxes (going into a '72 K5) but two wheel drive boxes are plentiful. I enjoy the manual steering, and don't want to go power. It seems my options are to use a two wheel drive box and find a pitman arm that will work with the steering drag link, or go to power steering. Any ideas? Thanks!

Re: Manual steering box issues
The 2wd box has the pitman arm facing forward, whereas the 4wd box has the pitman arm facing to the left. What is wrong with your box, just worn out? I still think I have my old one laying around in the garage somewhere, I converted to PS a few years ago.

Re: Manual steering box issues
I found out that the only difference between a 4x4 and 2 wheel drive manual box is the shaft the pitman arm goes on... Too bad thats the part I need, but plenty of 2-wheel boxes for other parts out there.
