I believe it is a 4L60E. Look on the trans and see if it has handful of wires plugged into it the side, that would be a "E". There will be one plug on the back of both for the speed sensor, but the 700R4/4L60 will have just on plug on the side for the TCC. What are you shifting issues?

May understanding is, all the automatics in 1993 C1500s were 4L60E transmissions.

93 was the first year for the 4L60E. Only C/K 1500 & LD C2500s got them that year. 93 RWD cars (Corvette, F-body, B-body) still used the 4L60 (700R4)

I have a 1994 4L60E with trans issues also, how big of a deal is it to put a 700R4 into it as I have a spare one of them ?

i have a 93k2500 and it is a 4l60e, since its electronic your best bet is to take it to a shop and let them hook it to the computer. its usually free and they will drive it and read the codes and give you better feedback than anything we can do over the internet.

Well when i put it in gear to take it off 1st and 2nd gear have trouble shifting. When going to 2nd gear the RPMS raise up really high and the engine revs up really high before it shirts and 2nd gear has the same problem. however shifting to 3rd and fourth gear theirs no problem.

if its slipping at all is most likely needs rebuilt, if it just revs up high before shifting it might be a selonoid. if it is a selonoid gone bad you will prolly have a check engine light on. either way a trip to a trans shop is your best bet. alteast to diagnose the problem
