1978 assembly manual desired

Does anyone know where to get a "assembly manual" for a 78 chevy truck? Is a assembly manual the same as a service manual?

Definitely ebay. You can also find CD Roms of both service and assembly manuals together sometimes. I prefer the print editions. Sometimes there are also new reprints for a lot less than originals.

Service and assembly manuals are different. Assembly manuals are very informative. I had one for my '65 Impala that helped immensely. I would get both if I were you. To be honest, some of the Chiltons/Haynes manuals are almost as good, depending what you want to do.

Assembly manual (from another thread):

I also see them from time to time on ebay or other book places.

I (personally) don't have any old ones, as we used to throw them away when we were done with them....

You might subscribe to that thread (link: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=426121) because they are checking the availability of the various manuals.
