700r4 Install (crossmember ?)
I have the crossmember moved to where it has to be. None of the bolt holes line up, I am wondering how guys are drilling the holes in the frame for the top mounting holes. I wish I would have done this when the cab was off. Thanks

meybe if you elongate the 2 tranny bolt holes you'll be able to use the stock crossmember holes

I used a right-angle drill from the bottom up.

When converting from a TH 350 to a 700R4, I didn't have to drill any new holes in the frame.
The way I did it was to move the crossmember as far forward as possible while still using the existing holes in the frame. I then made a simple rectangle shaped bracket out of 1/4" flat steel plate approximately 4"X6" with 4 holes drilled in it to allow the trans mount to bolt to the bracket and the bracket to bolt to the crossmember. It's simple and works perfectly.
