Re: clutch pedal removal

Yea, just remove the pinch bolt , from the lever on the RH end, check that the return spring is off the LH side on top. The peddle should slide right out(just watch for wires in the way). The brake peddle will stay in place. crazy AL

Re: clutch pedal removal

Ok guys...you make it sound so easy, and it should be, but the top of my pedal hits a curve in the firewall/dash and there is simply not enough room for that thing to slide out. What is the secret and why cant I get mine out???

Re: clutch pedal removal

There are two pedal brakets/spring combos. Either one can be taken out whole and the clutch removed on the bench. The lighter duty one can be done in the cab, but, if you have the heavy one, you simply have to take the assembly out whole and take a GREAT DEAL of care removing the spring. If it flips while you are holding the pedal arm, you will lose a finger.

Fortunately, they were able to sew mine back on and I regained most of the use.

Re: clutch pedal removal

I was alittle less ambitious and cut the clutch pedal off a few inches up and slide the rest out since I could turn it further to clear the firewall. now que the '67-72 c10 clutch pedals being worth their weight in gold' trend... lol

Re: clutch pedal removal

thanks guys...it would figure I had the larger one. Not sure how to proceed now. I already have the spring and such off...do I take the time to pull the whole assembly out and sell the clutch pedal, or just hack off part of it and get the dang thing out so I can continue on my build....hmmmmmmm. I'm leanin towards hacking....

Re: clutch pedal removal

ok, just had one of those "duh" moments...I looked again at how to take out my clutch pedal and all I had to do was rotate the pedal all the way toward the steering wheel and it was able to then slide out. Its all good now!
