brakes...I got nothing

I am restoring a 69. I am having trouble tracking down the brake problem. I am assuming there is a leak, but I cant find it. I have used a whole bottle of brake fluid (quart I believe), and pressed the pedal over and over, and the master keeps wanting more. I cant find a leak anywhere (on the outside). Could they be leaking on the inside? Any other ideas? Thanks in advance.

power brakes??? I bet its leaking between the master and booster

unbolt the master from the boster, it is more than likely full of brake fluid..
if so. you'll have to take the boster off and drain it and flush it out.. so the fuild doesn't eat the rubber diaphaim/
if your that brave type you can rebuild the master, it is a piece of cake to do..
one snap ring and replace a few seals and hone the cyl.

Its got manual unfortunately. When I press the brake pedal in softly I can see air coming up to the surface. I forgot to mention the truck has been sitting for 10+ years....

then you need to look again.. two people..
on in the truck pumping.
there is a leak, find it..
also the rubber lines(there are 3 two to the front brakes and one to the rear end)
might be swelling as you fill and pump..
but if you did put a qt in.. there is a leak..
is the carpet in the cab wet at the firewall mounting point for the master?
is the master to firewall wet?
if not.. you have a leak somewhere..
fell around the lines.. it'll be wet somewhere..

I'd look at the rubber lines. real close. if they swell when pumping the brakes or are cracked.. get new..

there is two ply and when the inner seperates from the outer they swell..
then fail..

Thanks for the tips. I will track down the problem on Sunday. Kind of jacking my own thread, but are manual drum all the way around as scary as it sounds for freeway driving assuming they are set up right?

I checked it out today. The leak is coming from inside the right rear drum. Metal tube that runs along the rear smashed up pretty good too. Looks like I got some work to do. I am guess ill do the disc/power swap while I'm at it and get the brakes good to go

drums are fine on the hyway, the issue is if you drive like you'd drive a new car,,
close to the car infront of you..
todays cars stop on a dime, and these trucks don't.. disc's help a little but not much..
but disc have no adjustment needed..
drums give less drag, but fade faster,
a proper set up all drum will stop as good as the stocker disc/drum
but are more prone to locking up the front.
manual drums are fun fun.. standing on the petal is something everyone should do just once..
my first 71 chevelle was all drum..
and fast stopping it was fun,
