When i drive my 83 2wd c10, i get a vibration at roughly 65-70 mph, but when i drive 60 its fine and when i do 75 its fine. At first i thought it was the road, but now im not so sure. I cant remember if it did it with my other set of tires or not (just put new wheels/tires on the truck from another truck entirely). I went from cheapo passenger car tires to a decent set of lt tires, same size wheels 15x8 rallies. I know the rubber of my carrier bearing is going bad, and when i put it in gear i get a clunk (its an auto), but it almost feels like the front end is where the vibration is coming from and not the driveshaft. Also has new monroe gas magnums, so i know its not the shocks. Should i get the wheels balanced? they looked balanced but i didn't have them done and it was on my parts truck like they are on my own now. Or maybe an alignment issue? but I would think alignment would be a constant thing if it was off. Thoughts?

Sounds like u joints, especially with the clunk you described. I would replace that carrier bearing as well.

could also be a belt broken in a tire. I would test out the tires. swap them and see if it goes away. At least that's the cheapest.

nope stop. take it back to where ever you got the tires from and have them re-balance your tires. (at no cost)

I don't think my dad will accept returns on the free set of wheels and tires I pulled off one of his parts trucks haha. Gonna talk to my buddies dad about balancing them for me. We have a tire machine but no balancer.

alignments can cause vibrations too.

If you goto a tire store chain they usually will check alignments for free. it only costs if they do any fixin on it.

very true. a free alingment check. and they will do a quick check oh your ball joints,and tie rods

Normally tire problems start and get progressively more pronounced as you increase speed.

Compared to a tire, the driveline doesn't have as much mass to drive the disturbance. It can only generate that much energy at it's "resonant" point, so normally a driveline problem will have a "unsweet spot" were it's worse and then increasing the speed causes it to get better.

My vote based on what you've said: driveline.
