Buying Shocks: Need Advice

Hey everyone,

I'm looking to replace my shocks but I know squat about them. Can anyone assist me in what to look for/purchase. I have a big 72 long bed but I don't do any serious hauling, just cruising. I've looked through the local various auto part stores and they all have different ones. Any suggestions?

I've had good luck with KYB Gas-A-Just shocks (which are not adjustable, btw). Have also heard good things about Monroe Sensatracs. Whatever you get, don't bother with very cheap shocks, you won't be happy and they won't last long.

Sensatracs are good. NAPA has a Grande that is good, too.

Re: Buying Shocks: Need Advice

Thanks for the advice, once again. I bought the Monroe Sensa Tracs and installed them yesterday. The truck rides amazing, now. This was the first time I installed shocks and was amazed at how easy it was.

Glad you like them. I work at the factory where those are made. Yes monroe shocks are made in the U.S.A.

Hard to find that these days.
