How to get the front end down?

I have the rear end figured out but not the front. I want it to lay frame but cannot afford a drop member. So Z'ing the front is pretty much my only option. How much can I raise it up? I read on a thread that you should not go more than three inches, is three enough lay frame while clearing cross member? Should I use drop spindles in conjunction with the Z? Any help is appreciated

Re: How to get the front end down?

Hey man, I'm in Frisco too. 3" will get your frame on the ground. I did 3.5" so my xmember would be a little higher up than the frame rails. My ride height will be 4" or less and that extra .5" helps with the lower arms dragging on stuff. Do you know your tire height? Tall tires require more things be done. That will make a difference on needing spindles and the upper arm balljoint angle binding issues. Some 14" Daytons will put in on the ground quick with minimal effort.

Re: How to get the front end down?

I was wondering if there was anyone out here! I have been out here for eighteen years. My truck is at my machine shop in Rowlett. Your truck looks awesome, I will be fabricating a four link similar to yours for the back. I am unsure of the tire size at the moment but the rims are 20s. As it sits now the front a arms are stock modified with big bag buckets. When the air is out of the bags the drivers side upper arm just contacts the steering linkage.

Sent you a PM. 20's you will want some drop spindles and you'll have to flatten the upper BJ angles or get you some aftermarket arms. You'll need some steering joints as I'm sure you can already tell. Good luck man. Crazy what the PO did to that poor truck.
