Need tubing measurements.
Can anyone tell me the actual external demensions of 2x3x1/4 tube stock? I'm trying to sketch something, but don't have a piece to measure. Also if you know what the corner radii are that would be great!

Re: Need tubing measurements.
Unlike lumber dimensions, metal tube is the actual outside dimensions. 2"x3" would be the outside. 1/4" thick metal, that would affect the inside dimensions. It would be 1.5"x2.5". Sorry, no help on the corner radius.

Re: Need tubing measurements.
Typically the radius of the outside cornere of square or rectangular tubing is 1/2 the wall thickness. So for .250 wall tube the outside radius would be .125. I don't know if this is an actual steel spec, this is just what I have observed over the past 30+ years of fabrication.

Re: Need tubing measurements.
I've gotten 2x3 with tight sharp corners and rounded wide corners, I think it depends on the country it milled in.

Re: Need tubing measurements.
I ended up going with a .1875 Radius and it worked out well.
Too bad I changed my mind and am designing another setup now
