Got new wheels today need some opinions.(boss 338s)

Well i ordered these about 2 months ago and after the first set coming in within a week they were 5 on 4.75 bolt pattern sent them back and got these today 5on5 ordered a 18-20 combo and these came in as a 20x8.5 front and 20x10s for the rear. So keep the 20s on all for corners or send back the front and wait on 18s? the good thing is that they started grinding down the wheel around the front hubs so they won't require to much machining to get them on or a spacer would be a quick way to resolve the problem. Being i have a lathe im going to trim the hubs. Let me know what ya thank.

295/40/20 on a 10" wheel out back and a 255/40/20 on a 8 1/2" up front. 4" drop in the front (3" spindle & 1" spring) and 4 1/2" drop in the back with a 2" spring and a 2 1/2" homemade block. This truck rides better than my 06 1/2 ton daily driver!

Crawdadfox posted this in one of his treads:

"20" Coys on the 72
I recently sold my 72 to a buddy, we mounted up a set of 20" Coys with 295/40 and 255/40's. Its lowered 4" in front and 4 1/2" in the rear, plan to drop it a little more...soon."

Re: Got new wheels today need some opinions.(boss 338s)

thanks guys, i bought the truck partially finished and am not sure how much drop is on it i know it has beltech spindles in the front and the rear has some short springs not cut just smaller if i had to guess i know its dropped atleast 4 in the front and has to be close to 5 in the back heres a pic when i picked it up, you can guess on the drop. I'm thinking i'll just keep them after seeing CRAWDADFOX's i was afraid that it would not have enough tire but those 255/40's look good!!!

Just waiting for my turn in the body shop!

This what they look like on a newer truck. I was going to get the 18/20 staggered and glad I changed my mind.

Re: Got new wheels today need some opinions.(boss 338s)

Im running 20x8.5 front and 20x20 rears. My tires are 255/35/20 fronts, 275/45/20 rears. Had to grind the front hubs to make them fit. Did it myself with a grinder. Took about 10-15 mins a side. So I would say keep them!

There is nothing wrong with 18/20 combo but I like the 20/20 better. Besides all that, you have wheels now. Do you "really" want to try again? Take a look at the group buy thread and think about it.... tic, tic, tic... Ok, times up. Hell no, don't send them back.

20's. Unless your roads suck like ours up here and you want to get a little more rubber between the asphalt and aluminium.
