Sliding rear window latch.

Hi,

So in looking in the archives, the rear sliding window latch being broken seems to be a common problem. The replies to the previous threads were to either buy a new sliding window or replace the latch.

If I go the new window route, what website do you recommend purchasing from? Is the replacement easy?

How would I go about just changing the latch?

Wink Re: Sliding rear window latch.

Actually im in the hunt for one my self and I've found that LMC has one for sale for about 150.00 I think, Could be wrong but the shipping isnt cheap. Ive actually had better luck here in this site, this is where I picked up my windshield for cheap too. CL allways works but you need a ton of patience.
Good luck

Re: Sliding rear window latch.

My latch is broken as well and I ordered one from LMC. Only problem is that the existing one is put in with rivets so I have to drill them out (which I haven't got around to yet)

Re: Sliding rear window latch.

Upon further inspection today, I notice my latch is attached with screws. I think the one from LMC is with rivets, correct? Any suggestions on where to get a latch with screws. I saw one today at Autozone in the "help" area but it didn't look like it would work.

Re: Sliding rear window latch.

I have had good luck finding replacement latches in the junk yard as a lot of sliders have similar latches.

Re: Sliding rear window latch.

I went put in the latch today and it seems I only have one side of it? I have the part that is the connector, but I don't have the part it connects on to. I don't know if I am explaining it correctly? I need the part that goes on the left.

Re: Sliding rear window latch.

Found a latch today at the junkyard, took it off a 90's S-10. Works perfectly!
