Will These Wheels Work????
I am looking at some new wheels to dress up my truck. Unfortunately the are a ways from me and are also uni-lug. I don't have a problem with uni-lug wheels but the ones I have seen use washers that are specific to the bolt pattern. With these wheels the washers look Round and I'm not sure how you would ensure the wheels are centered when installing them.
These wheels were used on both a 5x4.5 and a 5x4.75. I have included a picture the wheels, a picture of the bolt pattern and also a pic of the lug and washer. While the bolt pattern looks like it will work I'm not sure about these washers and if I can get 5x5 washers? So will these on my 69 GMC with the 5x5 pattern as is?

Re: Will These Wheels Work????
most uni lug use an oval washer that sits in a groove to center the wheel..
if these do take those lug nuts, you need the center hole spacer that goes between the hub and that hole to center the wheel. as the lug nuts and washers will not.. the lugnuts can't bottom out on the studs either or the wheel will come loose.. but at 5.25 at the widest the lugs might center it in your bolt pattern as the side wall of the lug nuts are 1/8" thick 1/8th+1/8th=1/4 so it be 5 1/4 across with lugnuts on the studs.. nice wheels, I have uni lug keystones that look like torque thrust d's but with flattened spokes double check the lugs a few times after you install and drive, a few brake heat cycles and they will be loose .. retorque good luck Last edited by stich626; 10-24-2010 at 07:14 AM. |

Re: Will These Wheels Work????
I'm thinking those are for hub-centric vehicles meaning they center on the hub and the bolts only hold in on. If your hub allows any movement those wheels will not work and would be dangerous to run.

Re: Will These Wheels Work????
Most likely those are 5 x 4.75 and 5 x 5 pattern "uni" lug. A shank style lug nut will center the wheel just fine. And you'll want some offset washers. They'll cover up the remainder of the lug hole but have nothing to do with centering your wheel. Just ensure the center bore is big enough to completely set the wheel flat on the hub.
