People were asking for pictures of my 67 C-20

This Pickup was ordered By my Dad and he took Delivery of it in November 1966 from the now defunct Branine Chevrolet in Mulvane Kansas... What I like about the Truck is it is a Small window Pickup and it has the rubber floor mat instead of Carpet... I just think that in unique...

I inherited this pickup in December of 2005 when my father passed away... I am looking to do a frame off restoration starting in 2011... I am going to do a few upgrades to it when I do... Example my dad thought you need to have EXTREMELY low gears so this was ordered with a limited slip "no spin" 456 rear differential which makes this truck almost unbearable to drive on any interstate so I am going to change the gears out for some mid 3's.... I am also going to install a factory styl in dash tachometer which this truck does not have...I will upgrade to a rotary A/C unit seeing how the Factory unit is fried anyway...

Wel that is just the short of plans for this truck over the next several months...

Dan

Great looking truck, but the rear bumper seems out of place. Are you going to replace it?

Yeah I am getting ready to trash that Bumper... My Dad towed a travel trailer with this truck and Thought this was the way he needed to go... I want to go back to a Standard Chrome rear Bumper on it with a Receiver type hitch on it... This truck was ordered from the factory without a Rear Bumper at all...

Another thing that is kind of kewl about this truck is the Tailgate is the original tailgate and was remover off of the truck the day it came home from the dealer... I put the tailgate on the truck for the first time in 42 year in February of 2009... It had been stored in the garage all that time... I even have the original oil bath Aircleaner for the truck...

I am going to leave this in Stock ride heigth with the origianl suspension... I am going to "hotrod" it with things that can easily be changed back with just a bolt on...

Re: People were asking for pictures of my 67 C-20

Nice looking '67.

If that's an Eaton rear end, the highest gears available are 4.10s. I seem to remember Yukon Gear offering a 3.90, but I haven't seen it in years.

Do you have a pic of the manual throttle?
What was this used for, did the tranny have a PTO?

Dan
Unfortunately, nobody in the aftermarket is interested in offering a simple gear set change for the Eaton HO 52 in the mid 3's.Most people end up swapping out the entire rear axle. It is a shame because there are still thousands of '48 thru '72 Chevy 3/4 tons with this rear end. The simpliest swap, but hard to find, is the Dana 3.54 axle assembly out of a big block 3/4 ton or suburban that has coil rear end.

The Manual Throttle is nothing more that a pull on the dash to set the dash to set the truck at a higher RPM... actually works a little bit like a Cruise control going down the highway but will not release... you have to push the throttle in to get it off... This is also a Manual Choke truck... Of Course these were special order items that my dad cose to have...

I'd love to get my hands on that rear bumper but shipping would be a killer!
