Here is a pic of my truck with the full wheel covers. The correct caps will have a blue bow-tie in the center (yellow is '73 and up). If you are looking for used caps, look for caps with good centers (the centers tend to get pits in the chrome). Good Luck!

I painted a yellow one blue to see how it came out and it looked awesome.It took some masking,but nothing a little patience couldn't handle.I have n.o.s. GMCs.no changes in paint on 69-75s,one place a GMC is easier (prolly the only place)

Re: rpo code po1 full wheel covers any pics?

I have this option code listed on the SPID on my 70 C10. Mine are the dog dish type. As far as I know my truck was all original when I got it. So which type of covers are correct for the code? Here's some pics...

I believe those should be RPO P03. Either a typo or you should have the 69 and on style wheel covers.

Interesting, because my truck has the original hubcaps (full like above) and the option on my sticker says it is "PO3 Chromed Hub Caps". Dog dishes like his would not even fit on my wheels (tried swapping a nice set I already have, and they don't fit)

I know I have the original rims, because my truck also had option "P47 15 x 5.5 Wheel" and these are them.

Confusing.

Re: rpo code po1 full wheel covers any pics?

I Believe the following;

1) The only hubcap RPO numbers are P01 (Full Wheel Covers) and P03 (Chrome Hubcaps).

2) If P01 or P03 appears on your SPID, your trim level did not have them as "standard" equipment.

3) The painted caps shown above would have been "standard-equipment" on trim levels below CST/Cheyenne and would not have appeared on the SPID.

4) Chrome Hubcaps (P03) are standard on CST/Cheyenne/Cheyenne Super.

Yours is a C/10 and those painted hub caps would have been standard.The optional full wheel covers on the SPID must have been removed and those painted hub caps installed at some point in the last 40 years.

Thanks for the info, at least now I know what was on there is not correct. Too bad the fulls ones weren't on there when I got it, woulda been nice to have. May keep my eye open for a set in the future.

They'll come around.I only like them with narrow whitewalls.Maybe the P.O.,or one of them,didn't like them.Your truck is definitely a very original truck.I have a friend who just found a '72 a lot like yours in the Fredericksburg area.Same color and bought from the second owner who just had it a short while,didn't do anything with it.It's still very original.
