I just bought 69 that has drop springs front and back, but the shocks were taken off the front. The drop is handy at an inch and a half to two inches. Where can I find shocks that'll maintain the ride height?

Shocks don't control the ride height. All you want is shocks that won't bottom (or top) out within the range of your suspension travel. First, measure between the shock mounting points at your normal ride height. Now measure how much clearance you have before you hit the bump stop. Subtract the second measurement from the first. You want shocks whose compressed length is no greater than the figure you got after subtracting.

Next, find a good parts store with a partsperson who knows how to read a catalog. Shock catalogs have a section which lists the compressed and extended length for each shock. Check the stock shock for your truck first. This will show you the length and the type of end mountings you need. Depending on the amount you are lowered, you might even find that the stock shock will still work.
