Just saying hello
New to the forum, excellent source of info by the way! Im the new owner of a 1978 chevy shortbed. Came from Cali(you guys out there are lucky), no rust no rot, never find something like this in new england. Its the perfect starting point for my project
 I have alot of ideas and sure a lot of questions,look fwd to getting to know everyone.

Thanks for the welcome. My plans for the next few weeks is to add a djm 5\5 drop and replace the bushings f/r with some poly ones. Long term plans are to paint, mild 350 motor upgrade and get rid of the sm465 4 sp.
I do have a couple questions: 1. Has anybody replaced the 465 with a m20, details and a link to a write up would be great. 2. The rear end in my truck is currently a 12 bolt truck non posi unit, does anybody know the wms to wms of this axle. I'd like to find one with higher gearing and a posi already in it, they sell for $300 around here, just dont know what Im looking for. any help would be great. Im going to Thomson speed way swap meet this week end. I move the questions to there own thread to get more attention. |
