Trucks for sale?
Have you ever ask a seller on this forum if his truck is still sale? I have, and I don't get a reply. Maybe the trucks for sale ad should expire in a month or two. What do you think.

You're right
I agree with you There must be a specific time of the sale in the forum

Re: Trucks for sale?
The member has the option of setting an expiration time or not. It is up to the seller to delete the post or edit it when the truck is no longer for sale. Have you tried sending a PM to the seller?

Re: Trucks for sale?
I ask if the truck was for sale, and no reply. Why should we look at trucks that are for sale for months, or years, and then don't get a reply. Maybe you should ask all of the members for their opinion. This could save the members a lot of time. Thanks

Re: Trucks for sale?
To accomplish what you are asking would require a staff member to verify each ad that is posted. The only way to verify that each vehicle is still for sale would be to ask the owner. If you had a truck for sale, would you like me to send you a PM daily, or weekly just to ask if its still available?

Re: Trucks for sale?
It's never been an issue to me....but since it was brought up it made me think...maybe it could be a max 30 day post. Then after that time the post would go away. The origininal poster could then choose to re-post and the advantage would be it would post up top also.

Re: Trucks for sale?
That is correct. After 30 days the ad would be dropped. An administrator whould not have to do anything. The person placing the ad could then replace the ad. Just use a little common sense. You would think that the administrators
would like input from the members if it would help the forum. But I guess they don't care. |

Re: Trucks for sale?
I like when they don't expire, but the seller adds "sold" to the ad. It helps when researching prices.
I guess we all want something a little different.

Re: Trucks for sale?
It really doesn't help in researching prices , because the seller doesn't say how much he sold the truck for. And you really don't know what condition the truck was in.

Re: Trucks for sale?
You are the first person that has brought it up, so until now it hasn't been a concern. If it becomes a problem, the staff will look further in to it. Thanks for your input.

Re: Trucks for sale?
We do not prune posts (let them expire etc) for any time related reason. Yes there are mods to do so, and it is built into the software as well. To do so would be more detrimental to the community, then allowing the poster to have a choice. We have done so on other sites, and the outcome just causes issues.
I do understand your frustration. The simple answer would be to only look at recent ads, or if someone does not reply, then they do not care to sell. I would not want to do business with someone who did not reply in a timely manner anyway. An Administrator replied to you 2 hours after your initial posting. He has responded to this thread several times. That does not seem like a reaction of one who doesn't care. |
