The engine looks great! Where did you get the valve covers? Do they have baffles already installed?

Passenger side is the normal mounting side for the chevy v8 of that era. As far as I know the factory SBC engines all had them on the passenger side, but I could be wrong...I am sure if I am, someone will chime in and correct me.

Re: motor finally in!

The stock alternater mounting was on the driver's side for these trucks in all versions, all engines. They did not switch to the passenger side mount until GM went to the long water pump.

Re: motor finally in!

yea exactly.... i went with the long water pump so i went with the passenger alt mount. just depends on if your water pump is long or short..... My valve covers came from KJM performance. They have great prices. The same valve covers are offered in SUMMIT for $200-$300. i bought mine for $60-$70. check them out.

Re: motor finally in!

Nice engine! Any details on the engine? Why did you choose that carb? Just curious.

Yes...I would have liked to have known about these valve covers when I bought mine from Summit. I got a better deal than $200-$300. I paid $189

Do you have rocker stud girdles on your engine? If so, do the baffles clear the girdle?
