Re: 6.5 diesel question

yeah just get a 6ft cord and a heat sink mount behind hole in bumper easy does it, oh dont forget to get a resistor for fsd or you will have to break off the old fsd to retrieve the old one

Re: 6.5 diesel question

I guess the company that installed the motor in the truck are really being a butt about the stumbling problem even though they know it is the FSD they want the whole pump to warranty the FSD . I know this makes no sense at all I am just trying to help him get his truck back on the road. How do I find TDC and according to Google I have to have some type of special wrench?

Re: 6.5 diesel question

no need for tdc pump has alignment dowel to ensure timing is within reason as long as hash marks are close, timing adjustments are made in mm on these and I would recommend after it is up and running take it to someone with gm scan tool tech 1 or 2 to set timing. I have done a few and the only tool I have needed was a crows foot in 3/4" If I remember correctly to do the inj lines

No window. There are marks inside the pump but you don't need them for this. The end of the pump shaft is a tang that mates with a slot in the timing gears. A locating dowel lines up in only one place on the timing gear. Wipe the goo from the top of the pump collar and the top of the timing cover to expose the mating mark made at the factory. Turn the pump to line the marks up for initial timing. Bleed the air from the entire fuel system, start it, and then set the timing VIA the ECU.

The "Special" timing pump wrench is similar to the Ford/Chrysler starter bolt wrench. I've seen a few home brews... like this box wrench bent with a vise and torch. To save $100 I'll bend up a $10 Craftsman.
You'll need to set TDCO with a big bucks GM Vertronix Tech II $3600, AutoEnginuity Proline $250 + GM OEM software package $230, or CarCode OBDII $122. I have AE but I work on a bunch of other vehicles.

Click here for the TheTruckStop CarCode TDCO thread.
