My truck left me...
Well my truck left me stranded at work. Luckily I can keep it parked there until I fix it. She is suffering from a no spark, no start. I used a spare plug and put it on #1 wire to the frame to see if would spark, but No spark. It is getting plenty of fuel, and has battery voltage at the wire straight from the fuse panel. It has battery voltage also on the yellow wire from the coil, but that is normal isn't it ? That's the tach side. At work we had a spare coil from another HEI, so I swapped it in, but still no spark. Still plenty of fuel. I had to leave it for the day but I was wanting to test the module. Is there a spec for ohm'ing out the module? I will try to get a better look at it all tomorrow, I put on an MSD cap and rotor about a month ago, and have been problem free until now. I removed the cap and it looked fine, so did the rotor. The weird thing is It started up fine in the morning, then at lunch I went to start and this happened, the good thing was, I still had a good lunch

Re: My truck left me...
Thanks for the input, Hopefully I get a chance to get er back on the road tomorrow. The thing is, it will probably easier to find a distributor, and replace as a unit rather than replace a module. I have learned to stay away from the AC Delco parts. Nothing but trouble.

Re: My truck left me...
Most auto parts stores should carry a replacement module. Also Auto Zone and O'Riellys test the modules for free.

Re: My truck left me...
Well I had the ignition module tested, and two AutoZone's tested it and said it was good, not being satisfied I went to Kragen/O'Reilly's and they tested it and said it was no good. So I got a replacement that is assembled in Hong Kong, but it fired up right away.It carries a lifetime warranty which makes me believe it will last 6 months or less. They didnt have any others in stock...but good thing I got the truck home.

Re: My truck left me...
did you say the yellow wire was hooked to the tach terminal on the HEI?

Re: My truck left me...
Glad to hear you got it running! I think it is funny the ''Lifetime Warranty'' gimick, Usually the 2 year warranty part is more expensive. Has anyone noticed this? Eric
