Seats

Does anyone know where to get a seat for a 1970 gmc stepside truck, hopefully with a fold down center console? cannot find one on the internet. but maybe i am not looking in the right places. My seat is okay but i need to get one with a center console because the drink holders in the seat cover dont work as well. and i do like center consoles =D

Re: Seats

I just bought a set of the Cobra low back bucket seats for my '67 and I am very happy with them.

http://www.discountvantruck.com/disc...ries/truck.htm

It was $800 for the complete set.

Re: Seats

Did everything line up properly Tkmadone? You didn't have to do any special drilling or make anything for it to fit did you?

Re: Seats

Tkmadone------thanks for sharing that website and pics. I'm impressed, thats a sharp seat. I can't tell, do you have the gas tank in the cab? I'm working on engine mods now but I may have to detour to the interior.

Re: Seats

I do have the tank in the cab, which I'm planning on moving eventually. It seems like the seats may move even further back with the tank out of there, like maybe 2 inches. I'm quite happy with them.

That bolted up to the stock bolt holes in the truck? do you have to call and order special for your year/model truck? Thanks for posting!

Why oh why must I see sites like this one when I am trying to STOP spending money on my truck?!?!

And on another note...for those of you that have installed the seats that are pictured, can you post pics of what it looks like under the seat? I'm trying to get an idea of how much difference there is in space available under the aftermarket seats and the stock one for the purposes of squeezing some of my stereo stuff under there. Many thanks!

Is that seat bracket spicific to our trucks? did it bolt right up to stock locations? your pic's didn't show that, any info on ordering a special mount? Thanks!

Yes its a 3 piece Bracket.
The Rectangle Main Piece
(2) Side Pieces.

The Side pieces bolt directly into the OEM Holes in the Floor and are "Contoured" to the hump in the floor.
Then the Rectangled Box piece attaches to that.

Those are really good looking seats for about the price of having a quality shop redo the stock seat in custom style and material around here.

I finally got a 90 something Chev spit bench in my 71 that looks good and sits good but I have to use one of those floor hump drink holders that doesn't work the best.
