Slight posability that it was a dealer thing...but more likely it was aftermarket at a feed store or something. I ahve seen some similar when i was in tx.

Keep in mind that rear bumpers were options on pickups --in most states that would allow that. In other states, they wanted bumpers on trucks so you either got the factory bumper, got a dealer installed one or did an aftermarket. Typically you could buy an aftermarket bumper almost exactly like the factory one for about 1/2 the cost. The pictured bumper is NOT a factory bumper.

I don't know if its stock or not. I have never seen one like that
I know for sure would not want to hit it in one of todays cars. My GTP would be a yugo if I hit that and you probably wouldn't feel a damn thing.
